nested categories frontend was created by Marco S.
Hi!
i have a lot of nested categories. Unfortunately the user needs to click through many tiers until the events are displayed.
is there a chance to dynamically create one page which shows all the event-categories as a tree and you can directly click to the one of interest to display the related events (so only one click is needed to get to the events).
I have now solved this problem by just manually linking the last-level categories in the description of the the main category, but i'm not really satisfied with this solution.
Best regards

Hi Marco
I am sorry, at the moment, we don't have any view in the extension to display categories like this, so please use the workaround you are having
If there are more customers need this feature, we will consider adding support for in the future
How many nested levels you are having in your system ?

Thanks for your answer. The maximum nested level is 4.

Dear Tuan,
I would really need this feature, is there any possibility to add this (for a reimbursement)? For me it would also be ok, if i pay you for adding this feature, but allow to integrate it in the main version (to offer this for the others as well!)
So as i described in the first post of this thread, i would really need a front-end view of all nested categories but only the last child (leaf of the tree) is clickable and linked to the event overview of this category.
Kind regards

Hello Marco
Do you have a sample page which has the kind of layout you want? If so, send it to me so that I can look at it to see whether it could be implemented and give you quotation
To be more clear, I think it can be implemented. I just don't know how would we show these categories in frontend. So having a sample page would be great

Sure!
This is the current example: www.bestcoaching.at/kurse (manually made, but links are often broken due to updates).
It does not be formatted like this (i could do this myself), just display the name of every category on one page and if a category has no category-children, put a link to the events.

What if a category has many events? For example, 100 events? In this case, surely we could not display all events of that category. What will we do in that case?

No i think you got me wrong: I don't want to display any events in this view - just the nested categories. The last child of this category tree then links to a new site, where all the events of this selected category appear ("Category Default Layout" as you name it for the menu item). So if one category has 100 or more events, the Category Default Layout would need to manage it (and will be as it is now i guess with pagination)
