Membership Pro version 2.3.0 released was created by Tuan Pham Ngoc
Dear customers

Today, I am happy to announce the next release of Membership Pro, version 2.3.0. This new version contains some new improvements + bugs fixes to make it compatible with Joomla 3.5.0 (which was released two days ago):

1. Added an option called Enable Profile Avatar. If you set this option to Yes, users will be allowed to upload avatar for his Membership Profile. The avatar can then be displayed on members list in the frontend

2. Added columns layout to allow display members list in columns. If you allow subscribers to upload avatar, maybe this later will look nicer compare to the original members list in table

3. Added an option to allow assigning subscribers to Joomla group when they select an option in custom field (radio, checkboxes, dropdown). Basically, each option in a list based custom field can be mapped with a Joomla group ID. Please note that if you use this option, users won't be removed from the Joomla group you select for custom field option when the subscription is expired

4. Allow creating new subscription record (from backend) without having to enter email (email can be optional)

5. Improve resources restriction workflow. Now, when users access to restricted resources (artilces, K2 items, Urls) and not logged in :

- After logged in, if he has active subscription of required plan, he will be redirected back to the resource
- If he doesn't have an active subscription, he needs to sign up for a plan. After sign up, he will be redirected automatically back to the resource so that he won't have to start again
- The system also tries it best to detect the best redirect URL based on the plan which the item is restricted for....

6. Fixed some small issues related to group membership :
- Group members are not allowed to renew / upgrade membership
- Group members are not used as statistic in Dashboard

7. Fixed an issue causes by some changes in Joomla 3.5.0. You can now safely use Membership Pro in Joomla 3.5 (and PHP 7 if all the extensions on your site are compatible with PHP 7)

If you want to use these improvements, please access to My Downloads menu item, download this latest version and upgrade it to your site.

After this release, I will stop adding new features to Joomla 2.5 version. Only bugs fixes and security fixes will be added for Joomla 2.5. Improvements from now on will only be available for Joomla 3.x.

If you are using Joomla 2.5 and could not update to Joomla 3 yet, don't worry, I will still provide support for it, it is just new improvements won't be added so that we can move forward.

Thanks for continue to use our products and continue supporting our developments

Regards,

Tuan

Hey guys, thanks for the update. Just a note, the upload file in the zip package is missing the version number in the name. All past packages had version (xxx_2.3.0)

Cheers,
Carl

Every release just get better and better!

Regarding to the avatar option, can we upload the members avatar ourselves from backend or it is only possible the user do it themselves?

Hi Daniel

At the moment, users will have to upload the avatar them self on subscription form (or in user profile). If there are more customers need this option in admin, I can consider adding support for it in the next release
