AEC migration? Is this possible? was created by Imaaxx
Hello,

We are in the process of migrating an older J1.5 site to Joomla 3.XX and our old site is using AEC. We want to import the active subscriptions into our new site, and get away from AEC all together as the creator no longer answers support questions.

I did search your forums and it seems many other people have requested an import tool or something to make the transition to your product possible without losing all our active members. Is this possible?

Thanks for your support.
Alan

PS not sure if i posted this in the wrong place, if i did please feel free to move to Pre sales questions.

I have the same problem I have Joomla 3.4 with AEC and want to migrate the users to Membership Pro, so before buying it I need the developers of Membership Pro confirm at the migration it's a possible, also want to know how this will work, is there any tool for importing because if yes I need you to test it because I see there is some problems on AEC when its exporting users list.

I have all the latest versions of AEC_1.2_rev6726 and AEC-v1.2.35-rev6808-master.

Lett me know if you want them to start testing.

Best regards,
Ibrahim

Hi there,
we had the same problem! AEC is no more supported and we need to migrate the AEC to Membership PRO.
At first: There is no migration script to do the migration

1.) Setup your plans and setup Membership Pro to the same variable as show in AEC
2.) Export your members from AEC with the needed fields, like this: ( See the green field on image)

plan_name;user_username;user_first_first_name;user_last_name;user_email;subscription_status;subscription_lastpay_date;subscription_expiration_date

3.) Import the members into Membership PRO ( Import CSV)
membershipprodoc.joomservices.com/subscr...t/import-subscribers

Sorry, but there is no other way to do the migration from AEC to membership Pro.
PS: Please dont do the migration on live site, create a clone site and test all settings and subscriptions

Membership Pro is a top extension and I never had a better support, thanks to Tuan and his team!

OK thanks for your help, i do have a question? If we do this will our current members subscriptions continue to renew in the new system? or we will still lose all re-occurring subscriptions?

Thanks
Alan

Hi Alan,
I dont know this extension as good as Tuan but the "recurring" payment depends on the plan where the users are imported.

You have to set the plan to "recurring" payment and then it should work.
And the user itself can disable the recurring payment only on their paypal account settings > abo payments.

I would setup a clone of your current site and just import a sample user with a "2 day" plan and then you can check if it works.

To be more clear, Peter is not a developer in our team, he is just a normal customer who is using Membership Pro.

Just want to take this chance to say thank you to Peter for your help, In the last few weeks, I have been spending much time to the development of the version 2.2.0, so I am quite busy these days and slow on support that usual. Support will be fast from Monday next week

Tuan

Thanks Tuan!
I think the world must be in balance, you always helps me very fast and when I know soemthing I give it back!

The problem of the date can be solved with a simple excel or open office.
You need to import the AEC user and format the table header to the same format as show in sample_csv.csv.
The date format can be setup in Open Office in this way: Select table row > format > date

Hi Ibrahim

No, it works in a different way. After choosing to subscribe for a plan, users will enter data on subscription form of membership pro, process payment...

After payment is completed, Membership Pro will create a CB account for the user automatically.

Tuan
