Membership Pro 1.7.0 released

Dear customers

Today, I am happy to announce the next release of Membership Pro. In this version:

1. I introduce a new plugin called "OS Membership - Simlizing Renewal". If you enable that plugin, when someone renews his membership, the system won't create a new subscription record for him. It will simply extends subscription end date of the original record. By doing that, each subscriber will only have one record for each plan, so it is easier to see when he started the membership, when it will be expired. However, a down side is that you cannot keep track of renewal history. So please be carefully if you decide to turn on this feature. I think you should only turn on this plugin for new installation

2. I made change to the system so that when someone sign up for a recurring subscription, and use coupon, the discount will only be applied to trial duration, not full recurring payment duration

This is helpful in case you want to give your subscribers coupon code so that they can get discount amount for the first month for example, and then have full payment after that...

3. Makes it possible to use Paypal auto return to redirect subscribers automatically to your website (need to setup menu item, turn on this feature in the Paypal account.....). Normally, users will have to click on the link at Paypal to redirect back to your site. This feature might be useful for some customers .

4. Allows upgrade from free trial membership plan to higher level membership even when membership is expired (before, subscribers from plan A can only upgrade to plan B if his subscription for plan A is active)

5. Fix some bugs:

- Router issue on multilingual website
- Fix EU VAT validation with Greece country
- Fix upgrade group member issue (only when you use group membership feature)

6. Some codebase improvement

If you want to use this new version, please access to My Downloads menu item, download this latest version and upgrade it to your site

Thanks for making improvements to this handy software

What must I do to upgrade Membership Pro after downloading the file? Must I install the new version as I install new extensions with the Joomla Manger? I am afraid about losing dates from 1.6.9 version....

Install right over the top of the old version. Back up data first.

Can you add the history of renewals to the next release? As you say "However, a down side is that you cannot keep track of renewal history."
