Two Column Donation Form was created by Trevor J Smith
Where would I go to edit the donation form so I can make it in two columns instead of the one now? I'm hoping to make the donation form on the page two columns, but the module that I'll put in a sidebar a single column.

Hi Trevor

You will need to customize the code. Try to look at the file components/com_jdonation/view/donation/tmpl/default.php and customize it to have two columns layout

However, I must say that it is not easy. You can only do it if you know programming

I looked there, and it seemed as though that was the code for the donation information, and not the donor information. From what I can tell (and I could be wrong) is that both of these forms, donation information and donor information, are created by two different PHP files and then a third PHP file displays them on the same page. If that is the case, I need to edit the third one to put these two different forms in columns. The code I would use would look like this:
Code:
<div class="row"> <div class="gantry-width-50 gantry-width-block"> <div class="gantry-width-spacer"> Donor Information </div> </div> <div class="gantry-width-50 gantry-width-block"> <div class="gantry-width-spacer"> Donation Information </div> </div> <div class="clear"></div> </div>

Since I'm using gantry, it would look like this:
Donor Information
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Address
  • City
  • State
  • Zip
  • Country
  • Comment
Donation Information
  • Donation Type
  • Amount
  • Payment Method
Submit Button

Is it that simple or am I way off here?

Hi

If you look at the file, you will see the code below (that's the code for displayding donor information input):

foreach ($fields as $field)
{
if ($field->name =='email')
{
if ($this->userId || !$this->config->registration_integration)
{
//We don't need to perform ajax email validate in this case, so just remove the rule
$cssClass = $field->getAttribute('class');
$cssClass = str_replace(',ajax[ajaxEmailCall]', '', $cssClass);
$field->setAttribute('class', $cssClass);
}
}
echo $field->getControlGroup();
}

So if you know programming, you can edit the code , move these code to the column you want. I guess it will take a dev about 2 hours for doing that (unfortunately, we could not provide support for this modification).

So please try to do the modification yourself. If you cannot do it, maybe you can consider hiring us to do it for you. We will have to charge you 30$ for this modification.

Regards,

Tuan

Tuan,
Please reference the ticket I have open, I'll reply to you there.

(I tried and failed - I know enough about programming to break things)
