Fee formula * doesn't seem to be working

I have this set up as a FEE FORMULA:

[PF_GIFT_CARD_AMOUNT]*[PF_GIFT_CARD_QUANTITY]+[PF_SHIPPING]

However it is working like this:

[PF_GIFT_CARD_AMOUNT]+[PF_GIFT_CARD_QUANTITY]+[PF_SHIPPING]

I need the [PF_GIFT_CARD_QUANTITY] to multiple the [PF_GIFT_CARD_AMOUNT] then add in [PF_SHIPPING]
