Campaign Customization

Hi:
My client wants to make use of the campaign system without having a thermometer or showing any types of goal amounts, start or end dates, etc. What is the best way to go about this? Can we simply turn off the thermometer from viewing and also turn off the table that shows the start, end and goal amounts?

In this case, you will need to customize the layout of the campaign to remove the information you don't want. The file need to be edited is components/com_jdonation/views/campaigns/tmpl/default.php

I plan to remove thermometer from that view as well to make it less confusing. So if you don't know how to edit code, maybe wait me until Friday morning and I will do it for you.

(Tomorrow I am busy and could not do it).

So if you are going to make changes, does that mean you will post an update?
If I make changes to the code, how will that affect my installation when i need to do upgrades / updates to the software in the future? I would want to be able to install updates without having to keep editing the file.

Yes. I will post the updated version. during this weekend. If you want to do the modification yourself, consider using template override docs.joomla.org/How_to_override_the_outp...rom_the_Joomla!_core so that you can update the extension in the future without any problems !

Just curious -- is it possible to have the option to turn ON the thermometer?

I believe on the latest code on the server, we disabled the thermometer on Campaigns page. I think that one is not needed !

Actually - I have 1 client that wants the thermometers to show on that page. Her site needs to have the joomdonation updated b/c it's not running the most recent one. Is there any way to build it so you can either turn the thermometer ON or OFF?? Please

Actually, I had it turn off in the core of Joom Donation already. If you want to show the thermometer on that page for some reasons, I think you can use the thermometer module. Maybe make the thermometer module displayed on the right of the page.

That should be an acceptable solution !

That's great ! As mentioned, I will try to spend time to work on it so that there is a config option allows you to turn it on or off. But this week I am too busy and could not work on it, so maybe next week. We will get there .
